On June 5th, according to Wccftech, sources close to the GPU industry said that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 graphics card lineup, including the RTX4090, RTX4080, RTX4070 and RTX4060, will be launched every other month starting in October 2022.
It was previously reported that NVIDIA will launch its GeForce RTX 4090 GPU first, followed by the RTX 4080, RTX 4070 and RTX 4060. Wccftech’s current report has verified the previous rumors, but the specific time is somewhat inconsistent. It was previously reported that these products could be launched as early as the third quarter of 2022, but today’s report from Wccftech says,The new timeline has pushed the launch of the first three graphics cards to Q4 2022while the RTX 4060 may be delayed until the CES show in 2023.
The specific timetable is as follows:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Card – Available October 2022
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Graphics Card – Available November 2022
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card – Available December 2022
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card – unveiled at CES in January 2023
The GeForce RTX 4090 will be the first to launch, followed by the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070. The company can be seen using a similar release schedule to the RTX 30 series, with each release separated by a few weeks. So while these cards are likely to be released in Q3 2022, the RTX 4090 won’t be available until Q4 2022, while the GeForce RTX 4080 won’t arrive until November, and the RTX 4070 in December.
IT House learned that the three GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards are expected to use different Ada Lovelace GPU designs, with the RTX 4090 using the top-of-the-line AD102 SKU, the RTX 4080 using the AD103 SKU, and the RTX 4070 is expected to use the AD104 GPU SKU. On the most recent earnings call, Nvidia stated that the demand for graphics cards in the cryptocurrency space has dried up, and most AIBs have said that they still have a lot of Ampere GPUs that need to be shipped to consumers, so we can expect Nvidia and its partnership Partners are rolling out new discounts and promotions in the coming months. Nvidia may even offer discounted prices to OEMs to include RTX 30-series cards in its gaming lineup.
The AD102 and AD103 GPUs are expected to use the same PCB, PG139, but the SKUs will be slightly different, with the RTX 4090 using the PG139-330 SKU and the RTX 4080 using the PG139-360 SKU. On the other hand, the RTX 4070 will be based on a completely different board.
